Q: What does inductive mean?

A: Inductive means that the rotary switch can handle a motor load. This load arcs across the switch when turned on and off and will quickly wear out the contacts on a non-inductive switch or even a poorly made inductive switch.

Q: What are the ratings of your rotary switch?

A: 10 Amps (1/4 HP) at 125 VAC, 5 Amps (1/2 HP) at 250 VAC, 5 Amps (1/4 HP) at 277 VAC.

Q: What are some products that could use our rotary switch?

A: Our rotary switches have been used for commercial HVAC units, portable heaters and blowers, window AC units, industrial, farm and sports arena fans, commercial building fan controls, floor polishers, dryers and other appliances.

Q: What customizing can be done on the switch?

A: Carson offers many standard options to customize a rotary switch for your particular application, including installing either male quick connect terminals or PVC insulated lead wires trimmed to your desired length, plate mounted assembly, winged push-on knob, protective fiber insulator, and individually or bulk packed for shipping. Plus, each switch has a range of positions that can be utilized, 1 or 2 pole options and switches can be combined with the Series S rotary switch.

Q: What are your ordering requirements for the rotary switch?

A: None. Whether you need 1 or 100,000 we will manufacturer and ship them to you bulk packed or individually wrapped. And if you do not have credit established with us, we can accept credit cards for the transaction.

Q: Do you have a distributor where I can purchase a replacement switch?

A: No - Our rotary switches are custom built and proprietary to OEM customers. Refer to Replacement Rotary Switches for more information.
